I remember reading a news article a few years ago about the Bozeman School Board banning palchohol (powdered alcohol) from its campus premises and thinking, “palchohol?…now I have heard it all”. Well, I am once again picking my jaw up off the floor. Snortable chocolate. Yes, this is a real product being marketed and sold online, in the U.S., as a cocoa snuff. The company that makes the product Coko Loko, describes it as a cocoa-based powder that includes gingko biloba, taurine and guarana (ingredients found in energy drinks) and is snorted to give users a “tobacco and drug free buzz”. Amazon.com recommends customers purchase the “snuff bullet” or “pocket snorter” along with their snortable chocolate.

The product is currently unregulated, but of course under investigation. However, should the company loose it’s ability to market the product as a snuff, the curiosity of such an activity is still poisonous. Another new scary trend for parents, educators, legislators and medical professionals to be aware of, snorting powdered chocolate. Read more about this at RollingStone.
